BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (March 15, 2012) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today they have signed forward Ethan Cox to a professional tryout contract (PTO).
Cox,
24, joins the Sound Tigers after spending the majority of this season
with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL, posting 28 points (13 goals, 15
assists) in 53 games. The Richmond, BC native also appeared in two
games with the Reading Royals of the ECHL after being traded from
Alaska on March 8 and did not record a point.
The
5'10, 175-pound forward made his professional debut with Alaska and
notched 32 points (15 goals, 17 assists) in 56 regular season games, in
addition to four points (three goals, one assist) in 13 Kelly Cup playoff games. Cox had three games of AHL experience with Portland and Peoria last season and recorded one assist.
The
Sound Tigers open a five-game road trip tomorrow night when they travel
