The Bridgeport Sound Tigers will be hosting Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, December 7th against the Hershey Bears at Webster Bank Arena. The game will also feature the Sound Tigers annual Teddy Bear Toss.
The first 2,000 fans at Saturday’s game will receive a CT Fallen Heroes wristband, courtesy of Aquarion Water Company. The Connecticut Fallen Heroes Foundation is a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to “always remembering” the brave service men and women from Connecticut as well as our country, who paid the ultimate sacrifice or were accidently killed in uniform. Also, Remember September, a Trumbull-based indie rock band, will also be playing prior to the Sound Tigers game.
Additionally, the Sound Tigers will also be hosting the Future Service Leaders of America Tournament both before and after the game. At 3:30 p.m., the US Coast Guard will take on the US Merchant Marine Academy and following the Sound Tigers game, the U.S. Military Academy will play against the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. A ticket to Saturday’s Sound Tigers game grants fans admission to any Future Service Leaders of America Tournament games. Those who would like to attend the 3:30 p.m. game should enter through the media entrance at Webster Bank Arena. The Sound Tigers will honor all active, retired and reserve military personnel during the game, as well.
Fans are also encouraged to bring teddy bears to Saturday’s game in order to participate in the annual Teddy Bear Toss. Following the Sound Tigers first goal, fans may throw their teddy bears onto the ice in celebration. The teddy bears will be collected and donated to local Bridgeport-area hospitals.
The Sound Tigers will play on the road against the Adirondack Phantoms Wednesday and Utica Comets Friday before returning home for Saturday night’s game against Hershey.
