SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15TH - SOUND TIGERS 5, FALCONS 2

The Sound Tigers defeated the Springfield Falcons Saturday night by a final score of 5-2. Matt Donovan had a pair of goals, while Johan Sundstrom, Jake Newton and Ryan Strome chipped in with markers of their own. Anders Nilsson started in net and faced little action, making 15 saves on just 17 shots. Donovan's two goals both came in the first period. It was the fourth time this season that a Sound Tiger has scored twice in the same period.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 9TH – SOUND TIGERS 7, DEVILS 3

The Sound Tigers came away with a 7-3 victory over the Albany Devils Sunday afternoon. Matthew Pistilli, Aaron Ness and Ryan Strome all scored in the first period while Johan Sundstrom and Andrew Clark scored 16 seconds apart in the second period. Anders Lee and Scooter Vaughan added goals of their own in the third. Anders Nilsson stopped 33 shots for the victory in net. Donovan had two assists, which gave him 117 points as a Sound Tiger and moved him one point ahead of Ben Walter for ninth in franchise history.

The Sound Tigers have now won eight of their last ten games and are playing some of their best hockey of the season. This is a big weekend for the team, as they'll have three games in three days. It starts Friday in Hartford before a trip to Philadelphia where they'll play neutral-site game against the Adirondack Phantoms at Wells Fargo Center. The weekend concludes with the Providence Bruins coming to Webster Bank Arena Sunday afternoon. That game will be Matt Martin Bobblehead Night, and the former Sound Tiger and current Islander will be in attendance for a postgame autograph session.
