ISLANDERS AGREE TO TERMS WITH POULIN

The New York Islanders announced today that Kevin Poulin has agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract. 

Poulin, 24, appeared in 28 games last season with the Islanders and posted an 11-16-1 record, along with a .891 save percentage and a 3.29 goals-against-average. 

 In 49 career games with the Islanders, Poulin has an 18-25-2 record with a 3.08 GAA and .900 SV%. During the 2011-12 season, Poulin earned AHL Goaltender of the Week honors for January 2 – 8 and AHL Goaltender of the month for January. 

 Poulin made his NHL postseason debut in 2013, appearing in two games during the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal round, posting a 1.15 GAA and .933 SV%. He’s also appeared in 96 regular-season games during his three-year professional career with Bridgeport, posting a 51-37-7 record.

 The Islanders selected Poulin in the fifth round, 126th overall, of the 2008 NHL Draft. He played four years of major junior hockey with the Victoriaville Tigres of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League prior to his rookie season in Bridgeport in 2010-11.
