SOUND TIGERS SIGN MARKISON TO AHL CONTRACT
The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that forward Colin Markison has agreed to terms on an American Hockey League contract for the 2015-16 season.
Markison, 22, played in six games with the Sound Tigers during the 2014-15 season after joining the team on an Amateur Tryout Contract. The Princeton, N.J. native made his AHL debut on April 4 and scored one goal for the Sound Tigers.
Markison joined Bridgeport after completing four years at the University of Vermont. Prior to signing with the Sound Tigers, Markison notched 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) as a senior at Vermont. In 127 games with Vermont, Markison posted 23 goals and 29 assists along with 46 penalty minutes.
A 5’10, 185-pound winger, Markison was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team for the 2011-12 season. Prior to playing at Vermont, Markison played two years with the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League where he registered 34 points in 112 games.
