Sound Tigers Add Scoring Punch with Casey Bailey
The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today forward Casey Bailey has agreed to terms on an American Hockey League contract for the 2017-18 season.
Bailey, 25, co-led the Binghamton Senators in goal-scoring last season (21) and added 16 assists for 37 points in 62 games. The fourth-year pro also made seven appearances with the Ottawa Senators.
A native of Anchorage, Ala., Bailey has earned 76 points (32 goals, 44 assists) in 118 AHL games with Binghamton and the Toronto Marlies. He has also scored one goal in 13 NHL contests with Ottawa and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Prior to turning pro, Bailey spent three seasons at Penn State University from 2012-15. The 6'3, 194-pound forward collected 78 points (43 goals, 35 assists) in 92 games and became the first Nittany Lion to play in the NHL in 2015. He is also the first Penn State product to sign an NHL contract. Bailey initially inked a two-year entry-level deal with Toronto on March 21, 2015.
Season Opener: The Sound Tigers begin their 17th season in the American Hockey League on Saturday, Oct. 7 with a 7:05 p.m. puck drop against the Binghamton Devils at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena. Fans can follow all of the live action via AHL Live or the Sound Tigers Radio Network, beginning with the pre-game show at 6:45 p.m.
