The Bridgeport Sound Tigers, proud AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders, wrap up their preseason slate this evening with a 7 p.m. puck drop against the Hartford Wolf Pack at the Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center in Worcester, Mass., the home practice facility of the Sound Tigers' ECHL affiliate, the Worcester Railers HC.

Bridgeport is 1-0-0-0 this preseason following a 2-0 win over the Wolf Pack on Thursday afternoon. Matt Gaudreau and Chris Langkow each found the back of the net, while Kristers Gudlevskis stopped all 16 shots he faced for the shutout. The penalty-filled game also saw 15 minors handed out and two second-period fights. Bridgeport's Yannick Turcotte and Mike Cornell both dropped the gloves.

“There were a lot of positives in that game and I was very happy with our effort,” head coach Brent Thompson said. “Especially away from the puck, I thought our guys were determined and it showed right from the start. Obviously, there was some rust with it being the first game, but tonight it's about cleaning things up and fine-tuning for the regular season.”

“I always talk about compete level and that's certainly going to be something I'll be looking for again tonight,” Thompson continued. “Worcester is a great town and there will be a lot of energy in the building tonight. It's going to be easier for guys to feed off that energy and use it in the game.”

Tonight's lineup will feature 10 players who did not participate in Thursday's preseason opener, including two-time team captain Ben Holmstrom, Travis St. Denis, Kyle Burroughs, Connor Jones and Tanner Fritz. In addition, goaltender Christopher Gibson is expected to start, marking his first game action since he went the distance on Sept. 20 in the New York Islanders 3-2 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers in Allentown, Penn.

“I'm looking forward to getting back out there and working on some things before next weekend (season opener in Binghamton),” Gibson said. “I've worked hard this summer to get back and I'm excited to get going.”

Tonight's game will not be streamed online or available on radio, but fans can follow all of the live action via Twitter.
