Quine, 24, played 61 games with the Islanders last season and recorded 18 points (five goals, 13 assists) after spending two games with the club during the 2015-16 regular season. The fifth-year pro also played 10 Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Islanders in 2016 and collected five points (one goal, four assists), including the overtime-winning goal in Game 5 against the Florida Panthers on April 23, 2016.

He is currently seventh on the team's all-time points list (136) and ninth on the club's all-time goal-scoring list (50).

Prior to turning pro, Quine played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Kingston Frontenacs, Peterborough Petes and Belleville Bulls. The 6'0, 196-proud forward amassed 218 points (90 goals, 128 assists) in 252 games.

Quine was selected by the Islanders in the sixth round (166th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
