The New York Islanders announced Saturday forward Anthony Beauvillier has been recalled from the team's American Hockey League affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, on an emergency basis.

Beauvillier, 20, scored two goals for the Sound Tigers in Friday's overtime setback to the Rochester Americans after making his AHL debut on Wednesday against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He has two goals, nine shots and a plus-one rating in two AHL games.

Beauvillier also collected seven points (four goals, three assists) in 31 games with the Islanders this season to begin his second professional campaign. The Sorel, Quebec native notched 24 points (nine goals, 15 assists) and a plus-one rating in 66 games with the club during the 2016-17 season, including an assist in his NHL debut on Oct. 13, 2016 against the New York Rangers.

Prior to turning pro, Beauvillier spent three seasons with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) from 2013-16. He earned 206 points (91 goals, 115 assists) and a plus-10 rating in 178 career games, and served as team captain during his final season in 2015-16. In addition, the 5'11, 170-pound forward was named a QMJHL All-Star on two occasions and scored the most goals (15) of any player during the 2015-16 playoffs.

Beauvillier was selected by the Islanders in the first round (28th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
