Biron practiced for the first time with the Sound Tigers this morning at Harbor Yard. He is expected to play this weekend as the Sound Tigers visit the Springfield Falcons Friday night and host the Manchester Monarchs on Saturday. Biron met the media following practice. New York Islanders' goaltender Martin Biron has been sent to Bridgeport on a conditioning loan, the team announced Tuesday. He will leave Florida today and join the Sound Tigers in Bridgeport as they prepare for their games on Friday in Springfield and on Saturday at Arena at Harbor Yard against the Manchester Monarchs.
Biron has more than a decade of NHL experience. He spent seven seven seasons with the Buffalo Sabres and three with the Philadelphia Flyers. He joined the Islanders last summer.
