The Islanders have agreed to terms on an entry level contract with prospect Rhett Rakhshani.
Rakhshani completed his four-year college career at the University of Denver on Friday, March 26 when the Pioneers were upset by Rochester Institute of Technology. Rakhshani finished his senior year averaging over a point per game at Denver, totaling 50 points (21 goals and 29 assists) in 41 games, the most throughout his four-year career. The Huntington Beach, CA native scored 60 goals and 91 assists for 151 points in 156 career games for the Pioneers.
Rakhshani will report to Bridgeport to join the Sound Tigers at practice tomorrow. The Sound Tigers are in a battle for one of the final Calder Cup Playoff spots in the Eastern Conference. Rakhshani will play in his first pro game at Arena at Harbor Yard on Saturday, April 3 at 7 p.m., when the Sound Tigers face-off against the Portland Pirates.
