SOUND TIGERS ANNOUNCE SUMMER READING PROGRAM
Over 6,000 students from nearly 100 schools and libraries are taking part in the Sound Tigers’ Summer Reading Program. The goal for students is to read at least 10 books over the summer. Students who meet this goal will receive two complementary tickets to the Sound Tigers’ 10th Anniversary Season home opener, thanks to the support of State Farm Insurance. Sound Tigers’ mascot Storm has been traversing the state and visiting different schools and libraries to encourage Connecticut’s youth to strengthen their reading skills and participate in this educational program.
This program helps promote Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell’s Summer Reading Challenge, an initiative which inspired students all across Connecticut to read 800,000 books last summer.
