BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Jan. 11, 2011) - The
Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced a pair of separate player
transactions this afternoon. The New York Islanders have activated
forward David Ullstrom from injured reserve and returned him to the
Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The Sound Tigers also announced they have
released forward Mathieu Aubin from his professional tryout contract.
Ullstrom,
22, returns to the Sound Tigers after his first career NHL stint. The
Jonkoping, Sweden native recorded two goals and two assists in 14 games
with the Islanders after being recalled on Nov. 20, 2011. Ullstrom was
placed on injured reserve retroactive to Dec. 20 due to a concussion.
The 6-2, 195-pound forward returns to the Sound Tigers where he shows a
team-leading 12 goals in addition to two assists in 17 games.
Aubin
recorded one goal and one assist in four games with the Sound Tigers
this past week. The Sorel, PQ native returns to the Cincinnati Cyclones
of the ECHL where he shows 14 goals and 13 assists in 23 games this
season.
The
Sound Tigers visit Manchester to take on the Monarchs this Friday, Jan.
13 before returning home for a two-game homestand this weekend. The
Sound Tigers host their annual Pink Rink Night on Saturday, Jan. 14
when they welcome the Providence Bruins at 7:00 p.m., and close out the
weekend on Sunday afternoon when they host the reigning Calder Cup
Champion Binghamton Senators at 3:00 p.m.
