BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (June 3, 2013) – The Bridgeport Sound Tigers have announced that goaltender Kenny Reiter and defensemen Dallas Jackson and Mike Keenan have agreed to terms on American Hockey League contracts for the 2013-14 season.
Reiter, 26, signs for the 2013-14 season after stints with the Sound Tigers over the past two seasons. The Pittsburgh, PA native totaled a 0-5-2 record over 12 games with a 2.52 goals against average and a .916 save percentage. Reiter spent the majority of last season with the Fort Wayne Komets (ECHL), posting a 14-7-0 record with a 2.72 goals against average and a .916 save percentage. The 5’11, 175-pound goaltender made his professional debut with the Sound Tigers late in the 2011-12 season after completing his collegiate career at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he led the Bulldogs to the NCAA Division I Men's Hockey title in 2010-11.
Jackson, 24, returns to Bridgeport after splitting time between the Sound Tigers and the ECHL’s Gwinnett Gladiators last season. The Edson, AB joined the Sound Tigers midway through the 2012-13 season and signed an AHL contract for the remainder of the year, recording three assists in 21 games. Jackson also posted 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) in 31 regular season games with Gwinnett, and added a goal and an assist in eight Kelly Cup playoff games for the Gladiators.
Keenan, 24, inks his first pro contract with the Sound Tigers for the 2013-14 season. The Weymouth, MA native appeared in five games with the Sound Tigers at the conclusion of the 2012-13 season after signing an amateur tryout contract (ATO) following his four-year collegiate career at Dartmouth College (ECAC). Keenan served as the Big Green’s captain in his final two collegiate seasons, becoming the first Dartmouth player to do so in 70 years.
