The Bridgeport Sound Tigers today announced that 18 players have been added to their training camp roster.
The New York Islanders loaned 15 players to Bridgeport and released three from tryout agreements. All 18 players will report to camp on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The players loaned to Bridgeport include forwards Chris Bruton, Joe Diamond, Brett Gallant, Mike Halmo, Kirill Kabanov, Anders Lee, John Persson, Alan Quine, Ryan Strome and Johan Sundstrom. Defensemen Calvin de Haan, Scott Mayfield and Aaron Ness will also report to the Sound Tigers along with goaltender Anders Nilsson. Defenseman Joe Finley cleared waivers and was also loaned to Bridgeport.
Forward Justin Johnson and goaltender Ken Reiter were released from professional tryout agreements, while forward Riley Wetmore was released from an amateur tryout agreement.
Sound Tigers opening weekend kicks off with a 7 p.m. game on Saturday, Oct. 5 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Sunday, Oct. 6 is a 3 p.m. start against the Norfolk Admirals. All children 12 and under are eligible to receive a free ticket to Sunday's game.
