The Sound Tigers are preparing for three games in three days this weekend, two of which will be at home.  After a short trip north to take on the Hartford Wolf Pack, the Sound Tigers will return home for games Saturday at 7 p.m. against the Manchester Monarchs and Sunday at 3 p.m. against the Albany Devils. With two of the three games coming against divisional opponents, this is a big weekend upcoming for the Sound Tigers.

The Sound Tigers have played the Wolf Pack three times so far this season, with the last matchup resulting in a 3-2 Sound Tigers win. Ryan Strome led the way with two goals while Anders Lee chipped in one as well. Beginning with that game Nov. 29, the Sound Tigers went on to win five of their next six games. Hartford is led by Danny Kristo, who has 20 points (11 goals, nine assists) in 24 games for the Wolf Pack this season.

These two teams last played Sunday at Verizon Wireless Arena, when the Monarchs came away with a 3-1 victory. Sean Wiles’ goal was not enough for the Sound Tigers, as Tanner Pearson’s hat trick led the Monarchs to the victory. The last time the teams faced off at Webster Bank Arena, the Sound Tigers skated to a 3-2 win. Mike Halmo, Strome and Ryan Larson all had goals in the come-from-behind victory.

The Devils have had the Sound Tigers number so far this season, winning all four games the teams have played against each other. The last was on Cool Fun 101, when the Devils picked up a 3-0 shutout win over the Sound Tigers. Joe Whitney has been a thorn in the Sound Tigers’ side all season long, collecting six points (three goals, three assists) in the four games the teams have played.
