Earlier this week, we posted some of the storylines that have emerged from the first 33 games of the 2013-14 season. As the Sound Tigers prepare for their first game of the 2014 calendar year Friday against the Norfolk Admirals, let’s take a look even further and delve into 2013 BY THE NUMBERS.

130: The number of penalty minutes accumulated by newcomer Justin Johnson so far this season. Sound Tigers fans knew what to expect from the enforcer, who had played the previous three seasons with the Manchester Monarchs.

107: The number of shots on goal taken by Anders Lee this season, which leads the team. He’s made those shots count; he also leads the Sound Tigers with 13 goals.

40: The number of players to have played at least one game for the Sound Tigers this season.

33: The number of games played by the Sound Tigers so far this season. Only two players have dressed in all of them, Anders Lee and Scott Mayfield.

27: The number of power-play goals scored by the Sound Tigers this season. They are on pace for 62, three more than they scored last season.

26: The number of points recorded by Anders Lee this season. As of the new year, Lee leads the Sound Tigers in goals, assists and points.

12: The number of former Sound Tigers currently on the Islanders roster.

7: The number of wins this season for goaltender Kenny Reiter. The Pittsburgh native settled into the starter’s role while Anders Nilsson was up with the Islanders and has the most wins of any Sound Tigers netminder in 2013-14.

6: The number of players to serve as alternate captain for the Sound Tigers this season. Calvin de Haan, Aaron Ness, Johan Sundstrom, Jon Sim, Matt Donovan and Brett Gallant have all worn an ‘A’ for at least one game.

5: The number of consecutive games in which Dallas Jackson has recorded a point. Jackson leads all Sound Tigers defensemen with 16 points.

3: The number of players who scored their first professional goal with the Sound Tigers this season. Mike Keenan, Andrey Pedan and Nick Larson all lit the lamp for the very first time as a pro this season.

2: The number of consecutive CCM/AHL Player of the Week awards won by Ryan Strome earlier this season. He’s just the third player in 20 years to accomplish that feat.

1.43: Strome’s points-per-game before he was called up to the Islanders. The 20-year-old first-year pro had 33 points in 23 AHL games.
