SOUND TIGERS SIGN GOMES TO AHL CONTRACT

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that forward Jared Gomes has agreed to terms on an American Hockey League contract for the 2015-16 season.

Gomes, 26, spent the 2014-15 season with the Straubing Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey League in Germany. The Brampton, Ontario native recorded four goals and 10 assists in 41 games.

A 6’1, 190-pound forward, Gomes has 129 games of AHL experience with the San Antonio Rampage from 2012 to 2014. He finished third on the Rampage in points in 2012-13 with 33 (16 goals, 17 assists).

Prior to his professional career, Gomes attended the University of Prince Edward Island for three years. He also spent three years with the Sarnia Sting and one year with the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors of the Ontario Hockey League.
