The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that they have recalled forward Nick Larson from the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL. In addition, the Sound Tigers also loaned defensemen Mike Dalhuisen and Mike Keenan to Stockton.
Larson, 23, was selected by the Calgary Flames in the fourth round (108th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft. He played four years at the University of Notre Dame and scored 47 points (25 goals, 22 assists) in 152 games for the Fighting Irish. Following his senior campaign last season, the Apple Valley, MN, native played five games for the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League. Larson will join former Notre Dame teammate Anders Lee on the Sound Tigers roster.
Dalhuisen and Keenan, both 24, signed AHL contracts with the Sound Tigers in the offseason. They both completed four-year collegiate careers last season—Dalhuisen at Quinnipiac, Keenan at Dartmouth— before inking their deals in the offseason. Neither Dalhuisen nor Keenan had appeared in a game for the Sound Tigers yet this season.
The Sound Tigers are back on the ice Sunday for a 3 p.m. contest against the Binghamton Senators.
