The Bridgeport Sound Tigers have announced a new partnership with ShopRite to promote their “Goals for Groceries” program during the 2013-14 season.
Each time the Sound Tigers score a goal at home this season, ShopRite will make a donation to the Partners In Caring program.
ShopRite Partners In Caring is a year-round, community-based, hunger-fighting initiative that works with more than 50 food industry manufacturers to provide $2 million annually to more than 1,700 qualified charitable agencies in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
“Our community has given so much support to the Sound Tigers over the years,” said Howard Saffan, President of the Sound Tigers. “Our ‘Goals for Groceries’ Program is just one way we can give back to the local community.”
Fans can help contribute to the "Goals for Groceries" Program as well. Any fans who bring 10 or more canned goods to any Sunday Sound Tigers game will receive a voucher to a future game.
