UNIONDALE, NY (May 12, 2014) – The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that Chris Langkow has agreed to terms on a one-year, American Hockey League contract.
Langkow, 24, recorded 20 points (five goals, 15 assists) in 64 games with the Sound Tigers last season. The Vegreville, AB, native added nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 11 games with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL.
Langkow was named an ECHL All-Star and won a Kelly Cup in 2010-11 with the Alaska Aces, who were coached by current Sound Tigers Head Coach Brent Thompson. In 138 career ECHL games with Alaska, the Reading Royals and South Carolina, Langkow scored 96 points (40 goals, 56 assists). He played junior hockey in the Western Hockey League with the Spokane Chiefs, Saskatoon Blades and Everett Silvertips.
