FRIDAY, JANUARY 10TH – MONARCHS 4, SOUND TIGERS 1

The Sound Tigers kept this game much closer than the final score indicated, trailing by just a goal with less than a minute remaining. Joey Diamond scored a goal in the third period to cut the Manchester lead to 2-1, but a pair of Manchester empty-net goals helped the Monarchs pull away. Kenny Reiter faced a ton of shots on the night and ended the game with 31 saves.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 11TH – PIRATES 2, SOUND TIGERS 0

The Sound Tigers had chances in this game, as well, but were stymied by the goaltending play of Pirates netminder Louis Doimingue. He stopped all 31 shots the Sound Tigers took in the game and earned his first career AHL shutout. Andy Miele and Brett Hextall were the goal-scorers for Portland, who has won both meetings against the Sound Tigers this season. The Sound Tigers outshot the Pirates 31-23, including 21-12 over thefinal two periods, but were unable to find the back of the net.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 12TH - SOUND TIGERS 6, WOLF PACK 3

The Sound Tigers broke out of their goal-scoring funk on Sunday, exploding for six over their in-state rivals. Anders Lee had a pair of goals and now leads the team with 15, while Aaron Ness, Andrew Clark, Chris Bruton and Joey Diamond got their name in the scoresheet, as well. Parker Milner, who was recalled from Stockton to replace Anders Nilsson earlier in the week, got the start in goal and made 25 saves for the win.
