SATURDAY, MARCH 22ND - ICECAPS 2, SOUND TIGERS 1 (SO)

The Sound Tigers lost to the St. John’s IceCaps in a shootout Saturday night, falling by a final score of 2-1. Adam Brace scored the lone goal for the Sound Tigers, who were unable to beat IceCaps goaltender Tyler Beskorowany again despite peppering him with 37 shots on goal. Kevin Poulin stopped 20 of 21 shots for the Sound Tigers. Ryan Walters, who signed an ATO out of the University of Nebraska-Omaha last week, made his professional debut in the contest. John Persson scored for the Sound Tigers in the shootout, which lasted six rounds. It was the final game of the four-game season series between the times. Though the Sound Tigers went 0-2-1-1, all four games were decided by just one goal.

SUNDAY, MARCH 23RD - PIRATES 4, SOUND TIGERS 2


The Bridgeport Sound Tigers fell to the Portland Pirates Sunday afternoon by a final score of 4-2. Walters scored in the second period for his first professional goal while Jake Newton had his second of the year in the first. Kevin Poulin started for the Sound Tigers in net and stopped 25 of 28 Pirates shots. In Walters' first two professional games, he led the team in shots on goal in both contests and had 12 overall.

The Sound Tigers have two games this weekend, both against the Hartford Wolf Pack. They'll travel to the Connecticut state capital for a Saturday night contest before both teams come to Webster Bank Arena for a 3 p.m Sunday afternoon game. Sunday is also Obey the Orange Night at Webster Bank Arena. The first 5,000 fans through the door will receive a special edition "Orange Out" t-shirt. The Sound Tigers will also wear orange jerseys during warmups, which will be availabile for bid throughout the game as part of a silent auction. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the American Traffic Safety Services Foundation.
