In just his second game back from his reassignment by the parent New York Rangers, Nigel Dawes returned to the Hartford Wolf Pack and scored two goals and two assists to defeat the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 5-3.

The Wolf Pack jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on two power-play goals. Dawes scored his second goal of the season assisted by Pierre Parenteau and Thomas Pock less than three minutes into the opening frame. Hartford would tally their second goal when Andrew Hutchinson scored his fifth goal of the season on a point shot. Artem Anisimov and Dawes assisted on the goal.

In the second, Shawn Bates, would finish a pretty two-on-one with Jeff Tambellini for the Sound Tigers. Ben Walter fed a cross-ice pass to Tambellini who skated in on the near boards and sent a saucer pass to Bates at the far post. Bates took the pass and snapped it under the cross-bar for his second goal of the season, 4:15 into the period, past Wolf Pack goalie, Miika Wiikman to cut the lead to 2-1. Pock, who along with Dawes was also recently reassigned by the Rangers to the Wolf Pack, scored his first goal of the season at 7:45 with Dawes and Hugh Jessiman assisting on the goal to make the score 3-1. Just over two minutes later, the Sound Tigers struck again when Walter scored his fifth goal of the season on the man-advantage. Steve Regier and Blake Comeau had the assists on the goal at 9:54 making the score 3-2. Before the period would end, the Wolf Pack would net a shorthanded goal, their fourth of the season. Sound Tigers' net-minder Joey MacDonald and defenseman Jamie Fraser mis-communicated on a play behind their net and Brodie Dupont swooped in, stole the puck and slid it under MacDonald for the 4-2 lead. Dupont's goal, his third of the season, came with 1:34 remaining in the period.

In the third, Dawes would strike for his third goal of the season on the power-play, when he streaked through the slot and snapped a shot under MacDonald. Pock and Hutchinson received assists on the goal giving the Wolf Pack the 5-2 lead. Sound Tiger defenseman, Andrew MacDonald would trim the lead to 5-3 with the first professional goal of his career at 9:06 when he floated a seeing eye wrist shot that found its way past Wiikman. The goal was unassisted.

For the first time this season at Arena at Harbor Yard, the Sound Tigers out-shot the opposition and were defeated, tallying 30 shots to the Wolf Pack's 23. The Sound Tigers were one for 9 on the power-play and five for three on the penalty kill.

The Sound Tigers will travel to Albany tomorrow to take on the River Rats in a home-and-home series with the teams returning to Bridgeport on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Congratulations Reggie: Sound Tigers left wing, Steve Regier set a Sound Tigers record tonight as he played in his 241st game as a Sound Tiger, breaking a previous record of 240 games held by Jason Mapletoft.

Game Operations: In the first intermission, the Sound Tigers had their annual "Turkey Chow Down," when three contestants came onto the ice with the chance to win a suite. It was not a pretty sight with the contestants stuffing pieces of rotisserie chicken down their mouths but it seemed to entertain the fans who had just finished their big turkey dinners from the night before.

Extending the Streaks: Jeff Tambellini extended his point-scoring streak to five games with an assist on Shawn Bates' goal tonight. Ben Walter also extended his assist streak to three games with his second assist on Bates' goal.
