MORENCY RECOVERING AFTER HARTFORD GAME

Feb 19, 2008

On Sunday night, Sound Tigers' forward Pascal Morency took a hit along the boards from Hartford Wolf Pack defenseman Michael Sauer with about seven minutes remaining in the third period.  Morency, able to move his limbs after absorbing the body check, was placed on a stretcher with his head stabilized and transported to Bridgeport Hospital for precautionary reasons.

He was released from the hospital with a sore neck a few hours later and fully aware of what had happened.

"I cannot thank all of my teammates and the great fans for their support and prayers over the past few days," Morency said this morning at the team's practice.  "I have received phone calls and e-mails from a lot of people and all of them make me want to recover quicker to return to the lineup and help the Sound Tigers win hockey games."

The Sound Tigers will carry their four-game winning streak into tomorrow night's contest against the Norfolk Admirals, at 7:30 p.m.  Any kid who shows up to the box office with the free kids ticket voucher in the Connecticut Post will receive free admission to the game.  Also, the Sound Tigers will host a career fair with various sports organizations such as the New York Islanders, Bridgeport Bluefish and the Connecticut Sun attending, to collect resumes.
