AHL APPROVES DIVISION ALIGNMENT FOR 2007-08

All-time high 29 teams to compete in league's 72nd season

American Hockey League President and CEO, David Andrews, announced that the league's Board of Governors have approved the following conference and division alignment for the AHL's 2007-08 season.

The Sound Tigers will remain in the East Division as a part of the Eastern Conference. The only changes to the Eastern Conference are affiliation moves. The Springfield Falcons are the new affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers and the Norfolk Admirals are the new affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Western Conference will welcome three new cities to the AHL for the upcoming season, the Lake Erie Monsters, Quad City Flames and Rockford IceHogs. The Monsters are the new AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche and will compete in the North Division, while the Flames, new affiliate of the Calgary Flames, and IceHogs, new affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, will do battle in the West Division.

AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE UNVEILS BRIDGEPORT'S
OPPONENTS FOR 2007-08

Bridgeport, Conn. - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, the opponents that will make up the 2007-08 schedule.

The Sound Tigers will face-off against their Connecticut rivals, the Hartford Wolf Pack, ten times this upcoming season with five of the games played at Arena at Harbor Yard. The only change to the schedule from last season is the Sound Tigers will take on the Portland Pirates six times instead of last season's four matchups.

Over the course of the season, the Sound Tigers will play 13 different teams in 2007-08. The following are the teams that the Sound Tigers will compete against next season, with the number of games listed home and away.

East Division Opponents:

Albany River Rats (4/4), Binghamton Senators (4/4), Hershey Bears (4/4), Norfolk Admirals (4/4), Philadelphia Phantoms (4/4) and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (4/4).

Atlantic Division Opponents:

Hartford Wolf Pack (5/5), Lowell Devils (3/3), Manchester Monarchs (1/1), Portland Pirates (3/3), Providence Bruins (1/1), Springfield Falcons (1/1) and Worcester Sharks (2/2)
