SILLINGER TO JOIN SOUND TIGERS ON A CONDITIONING STINT

Mike SillingerMike SillingerThe New York Islanders announced today that they have assigned center Mike Sillinger to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers for a conditioning stint.  The 37-year-old has not seen time with New York since he was injured last season.  

Sillinger will play for the Sound Tigers this Sunday, Nov. 23 when the team returns home after playing the last five games away from the Arena at Harbor Yard to take on the Philadelphia Phantoms.  The Islanders’ assistant captain will also dress in the Sound Tigers’ game on November 28 against the Hartford Wolf Pack and the following day in Worcester against the Sharks. 

Sillinger, a 16-year NHL veteran, played in the AHL for three seasons during the initial years of his pro career with the Detroit Red Wings’ affiliate at the time, the Adirondack Red Wings.  For the past two years, Sillinger has skated for the Islanders and compiled 85 points (40 goals & 45 assists).
