SOUND TIGERS FALL TO DEVILS 3-2

Stephen Gionta scored two goals, including the game winner, as the Lowell Devils defeated the Sound Tigers 3-2 Saturday night.
The Devils scored first, with Gionta getting credit for the tally at 9:16. Noah Clarke and Mark Fraser assisted on the goal. Rosario Ruggeri put the Devils up 2-0 on a power play goal at 16:47. Bridgeport only managed 1 shot on goal in the first frame.
After falling behind 2-0 in the first period, Bridgeport staged a comeback in the second period to tie the score at 2-2. Justin Bourne scored a shorthanded goal 1:46 into the second period. With just seconds to play in the period, Steve Regier tied the game with a power play goal.
Gionta finished off the scoring for the night after he scored his second tally of the night on a power play at 9:08.
The Sound Tigers finish off their preseason schedule tomorrow when they take on the Hartford Wolf Pack on Sunday, September 30th at 5:00 P.M. at Champions Skating Center in Cromwell, CT.
